New Book: Visit Nordisk Eksotisk....(Via Made by Girl)

There's a NEW BOOK out called 'VISIT Nordisk Eksotisk' by Iben & Niels Ahlberg, about Scandinavian Interiors, which are some of my faves! I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this book soon, at which point I'll review it for you!  Here's a sneak peek so you'll see what I mean. Doesn't it look lovely?!?

Picasso: His Recent Drawings 1966-1968... (Via Made By Girl)

After seeing Nicole's post about this Vintage Picasso book, I definitely wanted to post mine! I have so many books and this one is DEFINITELY one of my favorites!  The book is called "Picasso: His Recent Drawings, 1966-1968" and was published in 1969 with 254 pages.  It retails for anywhere between $20 to $300....from what I've seen online. 

So my advice would be to make sure you look around for the BEST PRICE if you really want to add this book to your collection. This book is a MUST have for art-lovers like myself, below are some of my favorite pages.

A Piece of Neopolotian ....On My Bookshelf (Via Made By Girl)

I blogged about Neapolotian a few weeks ago, (which I love) so I had to buy one of their amazing literature books covered in this cool PYTHON jacket!  I purchased a 1930's Sherlock Holmes, because it's one of my guy's favorites and it's now sitting on my bookshelf. Isn't it cute???

'Days With My Father'.... (Now in Book Form)

FATHER'S DAY is just around the corner and I'm sure many of you are looking forward to it.  It's not often I get to see MY DAD, as he doesn't live in the same state as I do...which makes it tough. In fact, the last time I saw him was for my wedding this past January. I already miss him sitting at my breakfast table (trying to eat healthier food). My dad (unfortunately) isn't one to eat a healthy diet, so when he was here visiting me...my husband & I made sure he ate healthy meals. Am I worried that he doesn't eat healthier foods?  Of course.

This leads me to this post about "Days with my Father", a photo journal that was all over the internet a couple years ago & is now finally in book form. The book is by Photographer, Phillip Toldedano who photographs and narrates his father's last years alive.  Phillip's father goes through severe memory loss after the death of Phillip's mother and throughout the process he captures his dad in his many changing states. The book is more like a HEART-BREAKING photo essay documenting his 98 year old father.

I recall the first time I came across Phillip's website, it was very touched to say the least... and definitely made me think of my own father...   As well as sad moments, there were moments of bittersweet HUMOR. 

I PURCHASED this book last night & I highly recommend it! It's nice to know that I have access to it in book form to share with others.

Hand Job...A catalog of Type

I'm such a fan of TYPOGRAPHY! This weekend I'll be buying Mike Perry's " A Catalog of Type Hand Job." I swear, that title stopped me dead in my tracks when I first saw it! Ha! It's an older book, so I can't believe I don't it. For those of you who aren't familiar, it contains work by 55 of some of the most talented freehand typographers! Enjoy your weekend!

Other people's LOVE letters

I bought this book a week ago and was finally able to finish reading it yesterday. Its the coolest book....its funny, touching and captivating. It inspired me to share a personal post-it note (green one down below) my guy left for me at one point. He wrote me many, but I'll share this one for now. I recommend this book if you're curious to see what others express in letters, text messages and email. They are other people's intimate LOVE letters.... and they've decided to share them with the world. The book is called " Other People's Love Letter" -'150 letters you were never meant to see'. Available at your local bookstore.

2 super cool books

After seeing this book ('The Left Bank Look') via Decor 8....I just had to get it! So happy I did, its so cute and perfect for people who love to do arts and crafts. Although I am not a huge crafter, I appreciate it and I LOVE books! The Left Bank Look is by Anne Hubert. Here's the way it was described on Amazon. The idea is simple: Take plain, mass-produced basics from your closet--shoes, clothes, linens--and use easy DIY techniques and inexpensive materials to transform them into chic treasures inspired by design from the streets of Paris. Check it out on Amazon.

Also, this other book 'Interior Design Course' by Tomris Tangraz , is one of my favorites! Its great for the aspiring designer like myself and helpful if you're in school or already working in the design field. This book is very helpful because it starts all the way from the basics....I picked up this copy at my local bookstore.
