My NEW Bedroom in Progress.....

Here's a peek at my bedroom, we bought the two side tables (slash nightstands) at West Elm. These were the tallest I found that would be just as high as my bed is! I love them! The headboard & the faux fur throw are also from West Elm. I have lots more to decorate and am thinking of a piece of ART over the bed...hmmmm.

ALSO, I SERIOUSLY need new king size bedsheets and duvet, can you tell?!?!?

What do you have HANGING over your bed?

A Beach Cottage.....(Sarah's Home Tour)

I received an EMAIL yesterday from a READER of Made By Girl blog, Sarah. She sent in photos of her cozy little beach cottage in AUSTRALIA & I knew right away this was the home tour I wanted to leave you with this weekend! I LOVE so many things about her home, it seems so peaceful & tranquil...a place you'd want to spend a Holiday weekend in.

I can picture myself hanging out by the beach, drinking ICED TEA and then having a romantic dinner at night!  Her home is very inviting.... with mostly white walls & splashes of color! Her vintage pieces of furniture really fit the space, giving it a unique sense of character.

Thanks Sarah for sharing your home with us!

You can visit Sarah's blog here let her know you saw her place on Made By Girl!

Beach Vintage Home Tour....

Have you visited the Beach Vintage Blog? If not, you must check it out!  I was so mesmerized by all the vibrant photos and couldn't help but want to share some of Simone's lovely pics with all of you.

The author (Simone), lives in a pretty beach house in Australia which she furnished with items from secondhand stores and Ebay. Australia has always seemed like such a gorgeous country.... hopefully I will get to visit one day! Enjoy!

So, glad that this week is passing by quickly...at least I think so!
I am looking forward to laying out in the sun this weekend, going to church, walking my dogs around town & making some artwork....oh yes,  and a little shopping!

Keeping my EYE on.....

There are days, I wish I could re-design MY HOME. Move around furniture, or just sell what I have & start new! I think I feel like this just about every 3months. Is that so bad? It may have to do with the fact that I frequent so many blogs and that gets my creative juices flowing.  My husband wonders why I like to change things up so much....I tell him. "Hey, at least it's just furniture & not you." Ha! He laughs.

But IT'S TRUE....If I had the time, I would shop every 3 - 4 months for my home!  I love the feel of a NEW sofa, a new coffee table, new book, a lamp & so forth. How about you? Maybe in a dream world we would all be able to afford new furniture every time we wanted it & somehow magically get rid of the old stuff (if you couldn't sell it). Here are items I'm keeping my eye on, although I have already purchased 2 things from this list. Enjoy your weekend!

Ok, so I don't need a 'MARIAH CLOSET"...

But.... it would be nice to open my closet door & see a shelf that fits everything! My wardrobe, shoe-shelf needs help! I've been looking at some closets online and was amazed by Mariah Carey's HUGE closet room! But......come on! There is no way I could even fit my shoes into a space that large!  I thought I had a lot of shoes....obviously not!  My closet is the frumpy one below.  Do you notice the awful shelving?  There you'll see some of my shoes, (it came built-in with the house when we bought it). This shelf will NOT fit all my shoes, it's made in such a way that most of my high heels don't even stay, they fall off!  So, the rest of my shoes are on the floor.....all my boots & heels, on the FLOOR!

Like most women, I take over the largest closet (usually in the master bedroom) & make it my own! My poor husband, he usually ends up with the hall closet or the guest bedroom closet! Sorry!
Do you have a shoe-shelf in your closet? Do you share your closet with your guy? How do you like it??

Here is a list of what my dream closet would consist of:
  • a mirror
  • recessed lighting or chandelier
  • a beautifully upholstered ottoman to sit on
  • useful shelving for shoes
  • a large drawer just for my jewelry
  • fresh flowers
  • OH & an entire room would be nice!

Rachelle of Kenzipoo...Home Tour

Rachelle from KenziePoo blog sent us these pics of her beautifully, decorated home!  I have the same West Elm zig zag rug as she does, but I love that she was brave enough to place it over the rug in her living-room! I thought of doing that but wasn't sure how it would look & feel.  Makes me wish I had bought the larger zig zag rug instead!  How about that fabulous wallpaper in her bedroom?? I also thought of getting that one for my family room....! Anyhow, thanks Rachelle for sharing your gorgeous home with us. You have great style!
Have a super weekend!
