New Items For Sale at Jennifer's Closet...(Via Made By Girl)

Some of you may remember when I first introduced "Jennifer's Closet" back in Sept. 2009.

Well, for those who don't know...it's a section in my web shop where I post items there were originally owned by me FOR SALE. Most of the time I end up selling things because I have too much stuff or it just DOESN'T fit my current decor.

At this time, the items you see below are for sale because they don't fit my new place or I just DON'T  have anywhere to put them. Please visit Jennifer's closet to read about all these items for sale.

Everything you see above is in good condition & I'm certain you'll be HAPPY with any of these items!

Handmade Holiday Decor at West Elm....(Via Made By Girl)

I'm SOOO excited the Holidays are right around the corner! First comes Halloween, Thanksgiving (it will be the first in this new place) & then OF COURSE, Christmas! I love Christmas, all the gorgeous decor in the store windows, the SALES, the giving of gifts and donations to those in need, holiday decorations, visiting family & more!

HOWEVER, I do MISS THE SNOW from back East .....

SPEAKING OF of decorations, West Elm has a TON of new HANDMADE tree ornaments made out of felt!  The ornaments are actually made in Nepal and are some of the CUTEST I've seen yet! Check them out!

I HAVEN'T DECIDED on what kind of tree we'll get this year, tall, short, just branches, colorful, all white??? Have you decided on a tree yet??

THIS was our tree LAST YEAR, we just cut a few branches from our yard & ta da, our very own, hand-made tree!  Enjoy!

Weekend West Elm Purchase....(Via Made By Girl)

After asking on Twitter for suggestions on pencil cups,  I finally decided on these alphabet mugs by West Elm. One for me and the other for my guy! I have LOTS of pens on my desk, since I'm constantly writing notes, so I NEEDED a cup that was going to make them look organized. As you can see, my guy has yet to organize his pens...I may just have to do it for him!

Have you seen these alphabet mugs yet? What pencil cup holder do you use? Where did you get yours from???

My Bedroom in Progress.....

If you remember, I mentioned that I had purchased this headboard from West Elm. Well, we knew that it would look TOO LOW with our pillow top mattress, so we took matters into our own hands and designed a headboard extension for it! It isn't perfect, but it definitely did the job! Hopefully, you can see past the WRINKLED sheets... hence the reason why I said I need fitted sheets.

So, as you can see the West Elm headboard was ELEVATED onto a headboard extension to make it appear higher...(11 1/4" to be exact). Using 1" boards, we made a box just like the one at the bottom of the headboard and mounted the headboard on top of it. We then patched off the small openings on the original headboard with a couple of small pieces of ivory leather we bought on Ebay.

cushions on bed are from fabricadabra, pier 1,

By the way the paint in my room is NOT black, it's actually called Turret Stair by Ralph Lauren Paints. You can also see the color here more accurately.

I'm also looking to buy a pair of nightstands and came across these from World Market. They're a little plain, but I think I can manage to spruce them up with some interesting hardware.

New at West Elm.....(Via Made by Girl)

Have you caught a glimpse of the newest items at West Elm?? I haven't visited my local store in a few weeks so I haven't even seen all these items below yet! After surfing through their site today, these are some of the items I've chosen as "MUST- ADD to my wish-list". (Oh my!!! Especially that headboard)

I will DEFINITELY be making a trip there this weekend to pick a few things up!

Have you purchased any of the newest products at West Elm? What did you buy recently?

And how about those Ikat curtains above? I think they should add more than just two color options. In fact I would LOVE to see it in black & white Ikat.

West Elm's Fall Preview....& My Faves!

West Elm recently announced it's Fall preview via it's site here. I already have several items that I've added to my wish list. The first being, The Woven Veneer Pendant. This is the kind of lighting I could picture over a kitchen island. However, in my case, I'd prefer two of them to make sure there was enough coverage.  The other items I would add to my list would be the new Kite Kilim Rug. This Rug is totally HANDWOVEN, has a gorgeous diamond pattern to it & comes in various sizes! My 3rd favorite item would be the Totem Pillow Cover, this cover is so striking, I can't seem to take my eyes off of it.

You should definitely check out all the newest West Elm items added to the site...I can't wait to head over and see it all in person!

My Latest West Elm Purchase.....

Got a new cushion (which was on SALE) from West Elm and I also picked up their hand knit throw which is soo amazingly soft! I had been contemplating on getting this for awhile now & it's finally on the sofa. A couple years ago I really wasn't into West Elm, it's amazing how my taste has evolved. Now, I can't get enough of their store! The sheepskin throw hanging on the back of my sofa is from Ebay, I ordered two of them  ....they're the ones from IKEA.

Have you purchased anything from West Elm lately? If so, what?

PATCH NYC at West Elm.....

Have you walked into West Elm lately?? I was there last weekend looking at this glass links chandelier & I spotted the new collection by PATCH NYC.  The designer Don Carney, brings his bold ink nature drawings to pieces like ceramic plates, pillows and artwork for your walls!  It's a great way to always be reminded of nature all around us. There is another interesting piece that I did not see at West Elm, but you will find it on the PATCH NYC site, the SKULL head print, which I really loved!  These would look very pretty placed in clusters on your wall...maybe near your dining area or even in your kitchen! Drop into West Elm this weekend to see the entire collection!

Keeping my EYE on.....

There are days, I wish I could re-design MY HOME. Move around furniture, or just sell what I have & start new! I think I feel like this just about every 3months. Is that so bad? It may have to do with the fact that I frequent so many blogs and that gets my creative juices flowing.  My husband wonders why I like to change things up so much....I tell him. "Hey, at least it's just furniture & not you." Ha! He laughs.

But IT'S TRUE....If I had the time, I would shop every 3 - 4 months for my home!  I love the feel of a NEW sofa, a new coffee table, new book, a lamp & so forth. How about you? Maybe in a dream world we would all be able to afford new furniture every time we wanted it & somehow magically get rid of the old stuff (if you couldn't sell it). Here are items I'm keeping my eye on, although I have already purchased 2 things from this list. Enjoy your weekend!

And the coffee table I chose......

After posting this post below, I decided that the right coffee tale was a square one for this space. Thanks to all those who commented & sent their suggestions, I appreciate it! Remember I said $300 was my budget???

Well,
I walked into West Elm on Friday night & was so enamored by this table , I just knew it was the one. I decided to ask the manager if he had any floor samples on sale (which is always a great way to score a deal, if they do) & to my surprise, he said " let me see, I think we may have one in the back that was put together, but never placed onto the floor, if it's still there, I will sell it as a floor model to you."

I kept my fingers crossed until he came out from the back of the store with good news for me. Well, he did! He said that he would sell the table to me for $350 (retail price $499)!!! I thought about my $300 budget, but it seemed like such a good deal to pass & it was in perfect condition, so it is now my new coffee table for the total price of $350!

Thanks again for all the great suggestions!

More of my home update.....

There used to be nothing in this area of my kitchen, now it's a pretty & stylish breakfast nook for two. The scoop-back chairs are from West Elm (originally yellow) & I painted them in 'La Fonda Mirage' by Valspar. Chevron (zig zag) rug by West Elm (on sale in store) & the Finley Pendant Lamp by Crate & Barrel. Oh, and I got the table on sale via West Elm as well! The flowers may be a tad bit too large, I may bunch them up & place them into a smaller vase. What do you think so far?
